With the recent death of his friend, Double Wide, Quan was questioning why god brought him into this
life. What was his purpose? Because it definitely was not solely to make music. He started making music
that was different from any rapper you would see today, it was having an effect on the community. It was
uplifting and joyful rap that just made you want to dance to it. The lyrics were real and from the heart,
they really hit you. There weren't just people in the hood playing his music, it was the whole community
and even some parts out of the state. He finally realized that God brought him into this world to lift other
people’s spirits, which eventually would lift his. He liked it, he liked having other people complimenting
him and telling him “great song Lil Q.” So he continued on making this type of music. Soon he was on
almost all of the radio stations saying “this is the new artist out of St. Abel, Lil Q.” He was being
contacted by labels all around the nation, but he new the one label that he really wanted to sign to, YSL.
YSL was the hottest label in the rap game with artists like Lil Baby and Gunna. His sights were set high
and he knew the only way to get there was to keep grinding in the studio.
