His Time Has Come

It seemed like just another monday morning at The Foxberry, but it wasn't. Quan got a call from a
random number, he confusingly answered. It was the office of the YSL rap label.

“Hello, who is this?” Quan answered.

“This is the office at YSL record label” the man answered. “Is this Quan”

“Y...y...y...yeah it is” Quan answered with a stutter, thinking there is no way they offer him a deal.

“We would like to offer you a contract here. What do you think..”

“Yes! Yes! Yes!” Quan screamed in the phone before he could finish his sentence.

“Ok, well it sounds like you are excited to be working with us, how about we fly you down to Atlanta
and get this all finalized?”

“Yes, of course.”

“Ok well I will text you all of the details, the plane will get you tomorrow morning” said the man.

“Ok, great!” replied Quan. They hung up.

Quan jumped around in his room for about 15 minutes before he called Small Fry to tell him the news.
They were both so excited to be moving to Atlanta and be a part of a great record label.

The morning had come and Quan was already packed. The sun had not even come up yet by the time
they reached the airport. Quan and Small Fry boarded the all leather interior, private jet with drinks and
food. As the plane took off towards Atlanta the sun rose over the tallest town in the small city, The
Foxberry. Quan had found the light, he had finally fulfilled his dreams.

Finding His Place

With the recent death of his friend, Double Wide, Quan was questioning why god brought him into this
life. What was his purpose? Because it definitely was not solely to make music. He started making music
that was different from any rapper you would see today, it was having an effect on the community. It was
uplifting and joyful rap that just made you want to dance to it. The lyrics were real and from the heart,
they really hit you. There weren't just people in the hood playing his music, it was the whole community
and even some parts out of the state. He finally realized that God brought him into this world to lift other
people’s spirits, which eventually would lift his. He liked it, he liked having other people complimenting
him and telling him “great song Lil Q.” So he continued on making this type of music. Soon he was on
almost all of the radio stations saying “this is the new artist out of St. Abel, Lil Q.”  He was being
contacted by labels all around the nation, but he new the one label that he really wanted to sign to, YSL.
YSL was the hottest label in the rap game with artists like Lil Baby and Gunna. His sights were set high
and he knew the only way to get there was to keep grinding in the studio.

The Death of a Member

Although Quan's life seems to be improving with his new friend Huncho, he is still being bothered by
the rival gang, The Blimps. Things were getting hot in the street, afew people he knew were murdering
and getting murdered back. Quan never wanted to be apart of this life but the system brought him into
it.

He heard of killings everyday in the news but his heart came to a stop when he saw the most recent
person fall dead to a drive by shooting to the rival gang, One of his closest friends, Double Wide.
Quan saw the news and called Small Fry to see if he wasn’t dead. He answered the phone to hear
Quan sniffling and tearing up.

“Hello” answered Small Fry.

“Bro, what happened?” asked Quan with tears running down his face.

“It was The Blimps, they shot him and clipped me too” replied Small Fry.

“I can't believe he’s dead, everything was going good in our lives and they just go and murder him like
that, I can't believe it” said Quan.

“Yeah I know, we just have to keep our head up and make it out of this town. Also we are going to have
a funeral on saturday for him. Will I see you there?”

“Yeah, i'll be there” said Quan. They hung up.

Saturday was just three days away and Quan really did not want to go, he couldn't bear to see one of his
best friends, murdered, in a casket, and there was nothing he could do about it.

The day had come and somehow Quan got through it. He sat next to Big Wide's grave after everyone
had left, thinking. Small Fry walked up to him and sat down.

“We’re going to get through this” said Small Fry, “together.”

“Yeah I know” said Quan. “We are going to make it out of this town, through music.”

“Now that's what I like to hear.”

From now on Quan wasn’t just rapping for the fame, he was doing it for Double Wide as well.

The Circus

Quan woke up friday morning, which meant 1 pm, and was eager to talk to Huncho about these
frogs that appeared in their houses. They had no idea how they had gotten in and why there
were so many. He walked upstairs to Honcho's apartment, number 501, tripping on every other
broken, tilted step. He finally got to the door staring at it for a few seconds before he finally knocked.
Huncho opened the door immediately almost knowing exactly what time he would knock.

"Hey, Quan come in!" Huncho said.

"Thanks," replied Quan.

The conversation started off slow as the two did not know each other very well. But once they dug
in deep to the frog conversation, you could tell that they were beginning to open up to one another.

Huncho went into the kitchen, which was visible from where Quan was sitting, and opened up a cabinet
full of liquor.

"You want something?" asked Huncho.

"Yeah, let me get some of that Hennessy." said Quan.

After a drink or two, Quan and Huncho instantaneously started to bond. For a couple more hours the
young men sat there talking about anything from sports, to music, to frogs. Suddenly Huncho looked at
Quan happily and asked slurring his words, "You want to go watch the circus?"

"Oh definitely, I forgot it was tonight."

They ordered a cab and arrived to the circus a little late. When they arrived at the gate to get in they
were so drunk they couldn't walk straight or even talk. This was obvious to the lady at the ticket booth
and they were both denied access. They walked around back to where an ally was. Out of the corner of
his eye, Quan thought he saw a stage lion that had gotten loose. The boys chased it around the back
streets of the town. After about an hour of chasing this animal Huncho turned to Quan and said "I don't
think you saw a lion dude, your just drunk." But Quan knew there was something, something that he
had to chase after or else he would never be satisfied without it.

Tensions Rise

It was a new day and a new day to get this bread. Quan hoped in the shower before he had to leave the apartment to go, of course, the studio. When he jumped in the shower he was frightened to see a gray frog standing by the drain looking ready to attack. Quan's first intention was to kill the frog but changed his mind and decided to store it in a shoe box under his bed.

Quan sped to the studio because he knew he was late for his recording. When he got there he realixed that Jeremy wasn't present. He knew something was up and he was bound to figure it out. Why would the Blimps attack him like that, He knew there was a possibilty that Jeremy was in his squad to take him down. His mind was all over the place while he was recording and produced poor quality songs.

"Man what wrong with you today?" asked Big Wide.

"I got a feeling Jeremy is up to something" said Quan.

"You are tripping Quan. I'll see you later." Big Wide left the studio.

Quan decided to take things into his own hands. He left the studio and decided to drive to the Blimps neighborhood. As he drove around he got wierd looks from the rival gang members. He got to the main street and saw a huge crowd of Blimps. Right in the mix he saw Jeremy repping their colors. He was laughing and having fun, Quan was disgusted. He knew he had a bad feeling about Jeremy and he was right. This is why they attacked him at the club. He travelled the long ride home listening to his song. When he got home he decided to check on the frog that he found earlier in the shower. The box was cracked open and the frog was gone.

What Happened The Night at The Club?

Quan arose from his sleep with no idea what had happened the night before. All he knew was that his song was all over the local radio stations. But still, with such blurry thoughts of the night before, he had to get answers. Quan met his entourage at the studio later that morning.

Quan turned to Jeremy and asked "Yo, what happened last night."

"I don't even know I was just as messed up as you. But I do remember you dancing with all of those girls." Jeremy responded.

"Alright then, I'm gonna go ask Big Wide." said Quan.

He walked over to Big Wide who was listening to Quan's song. Quan interupted "Turn that off for a second." Big Wide cut the music.

"Yo what happened last night." Quan said

Big Wide responded, "What do you mean? We wnt to the club up there and had some fun."

"I just feel like something else happened."

"Yeah the blimps were there" said Big Wide. The blimps were the rival gang in the neighborhood.

"What did they do" said Quan.

Big Wide responded with suprise "Well you don't remember getting in that fight."

"Nah" responded Quan.

There appeared to be a scuffle at the club last night and the Blimps were claiming that Quan said they were responsible for killing Mr. Evans. The question pondered with with Quan, how did they hear this news? And was somebody out to get him?
