The Song Gains Fame

Quan woke up with a pounding fist on his door, it was the police. Being who he was, Quan was familiar with the police and of course he did not have a good reputation with them.

"Oh my god, not ya'll again" said Quan as the tall police officer stood in front of him.

"Yes, us again" he responded. "I don't know if you have heard but Mr. Evans was killed in the foxberry parking lot the other day, I was just wondering if you knew anything about it."

"Nah, I don't know anything about that" Quan said even though he believed that his friend had killed him.

"Ok" the poiceman responded as Quan closed his door worrily.

Later that afternoon Quan got a call from Big Wide, he had news for him but he had to meet his crew at the studio. Big Wide broke him the news that his song had reached almost a million views and that the radio station wanted to play his song. Quan was excited to hear the news so he decided to celebrate that night at the club.

That night was a blur to Quan but all he knew was that he was on his way up, he was close to his goal of becoming a big rap artist.

The New Song

“I’m gonna shoot you with my gun before it's all done,” rapped Quan, rap name
Lil Q, to end his verse on his new song.

Quan and his friends knew that this was the song that would bring him to fame. He
already had people listening to his music in his hometown but that wasn't enough.
He sat along his friends Big Wide, Small Fry, and newcomer, Jeremy smoking a
blunt in their “studio” next to Big Tony’s Pizzeria. Smoking was a
natural hobby for Quan and his crew, he says it helps him with his music too.

As he passed the blunt to Jeremy he said “Aye bruh, you know if you wanna
make it in the gang you gotta go catch a body,” referring to killing someone.

“Yeah, I know.” Jeremy responded.

“I better hear about it on the news tonight, bruh.” said Quan.

Later that night Jeremy went out by himself with a gun that Quan had given to
him. As he entered the parking lot he saw Mr. Evans looking uneasy, walking the
other way. Jeremy kept walking to his car, got in and drove to an alley where
their rival gang was posted up. When he saw 3 tall men walking towards him
wearing all black he decided to turn on his car and drive back home, he just
couldn’t do it, he couldn’t bring himself to kill someone.

That night Quan was sitting in his living room in apartment 401. He was smoking
another blunt as the news came on with a statement saying that Mr. Evans had
been shot and killed in the parking lot. Quan called Jeremy and said “Welcome
to the gang.” Jeremy had no idea what he was talking about but he decided to
go along with it.
